Congratulations on being admitted to the University of California, Merced.The following list details items you must complete before your arrival on campus in addition to helpful websites to aid in a successful transition to UC Merced.
Steps for new students
- Save the date for 2009 New Student Orientation Week
- Read the Newly Admitted Student Handbook (coming shortly) and the International Student Handbook.
- Register for Graduate Division's Orientation – Additional information coming shortly.
- Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Graduate students who are U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or immigrants are required to complete the FAFSA regardless of financial status or financial need.
- Complete the online Statement of Legal Residence Petition. You must have your UCMNetID to login to MYUCMerced to access this form.
- Review your Housing and Transportation options.
- Learn about Graduate Student Health Insurance (GSHIP).
- Learn about UC Merced's Technology Resources
- Find Directions to Campus
- Find out how to get to Merced, CA from the local International Airports.
- Review your Child Care Options
- Review Local School Information
- Get involved with the Graduate Student Association (GSA) and GSA Wiki
- Sign up for the Graduate Student Peer Mentoring Program
